Music Evaluations

ABOUT

The Byers Music Room (TBMR), through PSP Sports And More, is excited to offer music evaluations in piano/voice for all ages and levels, preparatory through advanced. Participants can choose to be tested in theory, ear training, technique, sight reading, and musicianship. The cost is per participant, and includes all materials needed for the evaluation, 3 – 4 classes to help prepare the student and Certificate of Merit awarded at a special honors recital.  Having music students evaluated can benefit both you and their teacher; confirming & reaffirming areas to make them a better musician. This opportunity causes the musician to perform at a higher level than a recital, because they are being evaluated!  You will have records to show students progress as well.

The student will need to choose two – five songs of contrasting nature from different time periods:

• Contemporary
• Romantic
• Classical
• Baroque, etc.
• Christian arrangements
• Your own composition

All music should be memorized with the student bringing one copy for the evaluator (no photo copies of music allowed).  If the student does not have their music memorized they will need two copies of the music.
