Economics/English/Government Class
School Year 2018/19
ABOUT
PSP Sports And More is excited to announce this one year (2 semester) class. We are currently on semester 2. This class is intended for high school level students but other interested students can participate. Our instructor has a BS in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Administration and has worked in the legal field for over 20 years.
We used the Notgrass “Exploring Government” curriculum for the first semester and will be using the Notgrass “Exploring Economics” curriculum for the second semester, which will need to be purchased by each student/family. Each curriculum also includes a half year’s credit in English.
This is the description from the Notgrass Exploring Economics website:
“Exploring Economics is a one-semester course that provides one half-year of credit for high school. Students learn Biblical teachings about economics from the Old and New Testaments and a history of the U.S. economy. The curriculum emphasizes the contrast between command economies and free markets. Exploring Economics helps students understand both microeconomics and macroeconomics. The course explains economic terms from supply and demand to GDP and the Consumer Price Index, giving students tools to understand what they hear in the news and to make wise economic decisions. One half-year English credit is also available through an optional literature and composition component.”
This is the description from the Notgrass Exploring Government website:
“Exploring Government by Ray Notgrass is a one-semester course for high school. It provides one half-year of credit in U.S. government and an optional half-year of credit in English (literature and composition). Students explore the government of the United States from its beginning to the present with special emphasis on the Biblical pattern for government and on the U.S. Constitution. By learning about the operations of federal, state, and local government, and about issues facing our nation today, students become better equipped to understand, pray for, and be involved in our country’s government.”
CLASSES/AGE GROUPS
We are offering this class for high school age students (9th-12th grade), however all ages are welcome. This class gives the student the equivalent of one half year high school government, one half year high school economics and one year of English credit in literature and composition.
