History/English-Speech/Bible Class

ABOUT
PSP Sports And More is excited to announce this one year (2 semester) class. This class is intended for high school level students but other interested students can participate. We will be using the Notgrass History “Exploring America curriculum which will need to be purchased by each student/family. This curriculum includes a full year’s credit in American History, English and Bible.
This is the description on the back of the text book:
“This one-year course helps students understand history from the perspective of faith in God and respect for His Word. In addition to reading the narrative about events, issues, and people from our nation’s heritage, students read the words of people who made history in original documents, speeches, poems, stories, and hymns. They also read classic literature that helps bring to life the time periods they are studying. A variety of writing assignments and hands-on project ideas help students engage in what they are learning. Students who complete this course will earn a full year’s credit in three subjects: American history, English, and Bible.
CLASSES/AGE GROUPS
We are offering this class for high school age students (9th-12th grade), however all ages are welcome. This class gives the student the equivalent of one year high school history, English, and Bible.

TEXTBOOK
Parents are responsible for purchasing their own textbooks and grading the course. There are different options available for ordering the Notgrass History text books.
- The minimum a student/family would need would be the two Exploring America text books (Part 1 & 2) which cost $39.95 each.
- The Exploring America Curriculum package would be the best options for most families and costs $99.95. This package includes three hardcover books that contain the history narrative, Bible lessons, and all reading and writing assignments (except the recommended literature) needed to earn one year of high school credit each in American History, English, and Bible. It also includes a short guide for parents and teachers.
For an additional $14.95 you can get the Exploring America Student Review Pack which gives you the Student Review, Quiz and Exam Book, and Answer Key. - There is a recommended reading list of supplemental books Exploring America Literature Package that is available for $79.95 or you can use the library or other resources for this package.
- You can purchase the Exploring America Bundle which includes the Curriculum package, Student Review Pack, and the Literature Package all to gather for $194.85
- Notgrass History also offers MP3 downloads or MP3 CDs of the text books (Part 1 & 2) for the audio learner.
- The other option would be to look for any or all of these items, used through any of the online resources like Amazon, eBay, or other book sellers.
We are using the most current editions (© 2014). Please buy the current edition. Sometimes Notgrass has scratch & dent books at a discounted price.
